New Office Hours

Starting January 2, 2008 the new office hours will be Monday through Friday from 8:30am - 3:30pm.

Dear Friends and Neighbors

jerry-for-webpage.JPGThe First Regional Compost Authority opened their doors at the Weaversville State Farm on October 22, 2007.  East Allen residents can take leaves and brush to BiCentennial Park on Mondays and Fridays throughout the month and the first and third Saturdays.  A Brush/Leave permit is required and can be purchased at the Municipal Building.  This is a good opportunity to reduce landfill volumes and in months to come, will provide mulch for planting your landscapes around your home and business.

The Board of Supervisors recently adopted a Building Numbering Ordinance for the Township.  The numbering signs are to be installed in front of your residence and business.  The signs need to be reflecting four inch numbers with a green background so that our first responders can locate your address in the event of an emergency.  In the past months, there have been many occasions where our first responders have been called to assist one of our residents and lost valuable time attempting to locate the address.  For more information, contact the Municipal Building.

In the past month, the Board of Supervisors also adopted an updated Burning Ordinance for the Township.  The new guidelines and a burning permit can be received at the Municipal Building.  Please contact the Township prior to any burning activity at your residence or business locations.

The residents should recognize that the Township has been busy over the past many months reviewing ordinances and activities to be certain they are in the best interest of our citizens.  Too many times, past guidelines were acceptable, but with liability issues and the overall tone coming from national and local security, the past has become obsolete.  The Township must and will be looking at the most current productive ways of doing government on behalf of the people at the least cost to all.

For more information, see the East Allen Township website at www.eastallentwp.org or call the Municipal Building at 610-262-7961.  Have a safe Fall season!

Sincerely,
Jerry Odenwelder
Chairman of the Board
